BARBERÁ BONET, Domingo de

Born in Reus, Tarragona, in 1896 and died in Brussels, Belgium, in 1982, this Spanish artist and nobleman, decorated with 29 international honors, was, among other titles, Commander of the Belgo-Hispanic Order and Honorary Member of the High Literary and Artistic Academy of France, the Academy of Arts, Sciences and Letters of Paris, and the Fine Arts Circles of Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca. He began his artistic studies at the José Casals and Tomàs Bergadà academies in Reus. He resided and maintained his studio in Brussels. Holder of several international patents, his works—exhibited since 1969 throughout Spain, France, and Belgium—reached very high prices during his lifetime and were highly sought after by collectors as the creator of the "three-dimensional figurative" style. Some of his works can be seen at the Zarzuela Palace—residence of Their Majesties the King and Queen of Spain—, as well as the residences of the Princes of Monaco, the Kings of Belgium, Prince Nikita Obolensky of Russia (Brussels), Prince Paul de Mourousy of Romania (Paris), and in Spanish Embassies to the UN, USA, United Kingdom, France, Belgium...
