FLÓREZ SOLER, Henry

Henry Flórez Soler (Bucaramanga, Colombia, 1971) is a prominent neo-realist painter based in Spain, with a career deeply connected to Europe. In Colombia, he received crucial guidance from the renowned painter Óscar Rodríguez Naranjo, who encouraged him to study the great masters of Western art. After settling in Andorra in 1999, the Principality served as his gateway to the European art scene. He received several recognitions within Andorra and became an authorized copyist at the Prado Museum in Madrid and the MNAC in Barcelona, an essential experience for honing his technical virtuosity. In 2004, he was selected for the Painting Workshop led by master realist Guillermo Muñoz Vera during the Aranjuez Summer Courses. Following this experience, he earned a postgraduate scholarship at the Foundation for Contemporary Arts and Authors (Arauco Foundation) in Chinchón, later joining its teaching staff in Madrid. In 2007, his work was selected for a traveling exhibition across Chile and Argentina. Although he has mastered drawing, pastel, and watercolor, his primary medium is oil painting. His work stands out for its masterful use of light, photographic framing, and a hyperrealism imbued with poetic and narrative depth.
