MUSET, Maria Carmen

Born in Barcelona in 1934, she entered the Sant Jordi Superior Fine Arts School in Barcelona at the age of 19, studying under Santasusagna, Puigdengolas, and Muntané, among others. She graduated top of her class, earning her teaching qualification in drawing and painting in 1958. That same year, she won the "Amigó Cuyàs" Award, and a year later presented her work publicly at the Sala Jaimes in Barcelona. Since then, she has exhibited continuously, balancing solo exhibitions since 1960 with teaching at her own painting academy, which has trained many renowned artists. Her painting connects with Impressionism, focusing on landscapes influenced by the Catalan School (Mir, Anglada Camarasa), though her floral compositions, still lifes, and female figures are also highly valued and widely recognized.
