ROMEU, Rafael

He was born in Calafell, Tarragona, in 1945. He studied at the School of Applied Arts and Artistic Trades in Barcelona and began his professional career as a watercolorist. He was awarded the Gold Medal of the Saint Chamond-Lyon International Exhibition and the Diploma of Honor at the VII International Art Exhibition of Italy. Additionally, he has been selected on several occasions to be featured in the Annuaire de l'Art International, published in Paris. The USA-based company Editions Limited has published posters featuring reproductions of his work. His artwork has been exhibited in Germany, France, Italy, Andorra, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Canada, the USA, and Japan. Today, some of his pieces can be seen at the Museum of Modern Art of Tarragona, Caja Madrid, 'La Caixa', the Holland America Line shipping company, and the Castellet de Foix Foundation (Autopistas A.C.E.S.A.), as well as in prestigious private collections such as those of the President of the Generalitat of Catalonia and the Archbishop of Barcelona.
