HERNÁNDEZ PELLISA, Joaquín

Born in Maella, Zaragoza, in 1947. He studied Teaching and later enrolled at the University of Zaragoza to study Philosophy. He relocated for work to Sant Feliu de Llobregat, where he is currently a member of the Fine Arts Circle, and began studying sculpture at the Massana School in Barcelona. He started with abstraction, but by the end of his time at the Massana School, his work transitioned toward figurative art. He received the International Grand Prix for Sculpture (Aquitaine, France) and the Josep Llimona Medal for Sculpture (Barcelona). He has also produced sacred art, creating large-scale sculptures such as a figure of the Virgin Mary for the Church of Sant Jeroni in Barcelona's Montbau neighborhood.
