PEGUEROLES ABADIE, José María
Born in Tortosa, Tarragona, in 1962. In 1981, he moved to Olot to enter the School of Fine Arts and discover the painting of the Olot School (Escola Olotina). After spending a year attending classes by the painters Vilà Moncau (then Director of the School) in printmaking and drawing, and Xavier Viñolas in painting, he decided to settle there to continue learning. In 1983, he created a tempera mural at the Military Academy of Toledo. Between 1985 and 1987, he traveled to France and Italy for study. In 1987, he presented his first solo exhibition in Tortosa, at the Banco de Bilbao headquarters. His oil paintings are figurative works that mostly document this artist's visual journey through the Ebro region—luminous visual records that demonstrate the author's virtuosity.
