MARTÍNEZ ROMERO, Luis

Born in Vigo in 1959. With a clear vocation for drawing and painting, he held his first exhibition at the age of 15. He studied drawing at the School of Arts and Crafts in Vigo between 1973 and 1974. In 2002 he attended classes at the Taller del Prado in Madrid, where he learned "Nude from life". He studied printmaking and stamping at the International Center for Contemporary Printmaking (CIEC) in 2003. He studied Fine Arts at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Pontevedra. He has received various awards in national competitions: the 1st Quick Painting Contest "Cidade Vella" in A Coruña in 2009, the Mining Chamber of Galicia award in Valdeorras in 2008, El Corte Inglés "Arte Nova Galega Award" in 2008, the Noia Town Council award in 2008, etc. He works mainly in watercolor, achieving a figurative work of great realism and perfect drawing.
