DANÉS BERGA, Pere
Pere Danés Berga (La Vall de Bianya, Olot, 1945) is a Catalan painter, watercolorist, and art collector, closely linked to the landscape tradition of the Olot School. Heir to Olot's solid pictorial tradition pioneered by figures such as Joaquim Vayreda and Josep Berga i Boix, Danés Berga's work updates this impressionistic and realistic language through a nimble stroke and a mastery of plein-air light and shadow. His work focuses mainly on natural, rural, and urban landscapes, with a special dedication to the Garrotxa region and its surroundings, capturing natural sites, folk architecture, fairs, and local traditions.
