NAVASCUÉS, Juan María

Born in San Sebastián in 1940. He began within the so-called Bidasoa School, characterized by its grays and blues, showcasing through his exhibitions the great beauty of the Cantabrian coast, its interior, and its villages. His first exhibition took place in Cintruénigo (Navarra). He later expanded internationally to Mexico, the United States, Colombia, France, and Belgium, where his work is highly appreciated, combining these exhibitions with others in Spain. Winner of the Caral Award 1975 in Madrid and the Itxaso Award 1976 in Zaragoza. His bold and daring technique has been noted, where mastery of drawing and the beauty of color produce works of highly commendable quality.
