SUBIRANA VERDAGUER, Antoni

Antoni Subirana Verdaguer (Barcelona, 1943) is a prominent Catalan painter and watercolorist, specializing primarily in urban landscapes, watercolor, and oil painting. He was born in Barcelona in 1943. From a young age, he developed a strong vocation for the visual arts, directing his career toward realistic and impressionistic drawing and painting. Throughout his career, Subirana Verdaguer has demonstrated a great mastery of both watercolor and oil techniques, standing out especially in the execution of urban views and landscapes. His style combines a loose, dynamic brushstroke on natural or atmospheric elements with a more measured detail in architecture and urban settings. His work has been valued in the field of contemporary art and in select quick-painting and plein-air painting contests. Proof of this is his presence in public institutions and collections, such as the Collection of Artistic Works of the City Council of Zaragoza, where notable pieces by his hand are preserved (for example, his oil painting Plaza de Santo Domingo, awarded in national contests).
