ESPARBÉ, Miquel
Born in Manresa, Barcelona, in 1942. From a very young age, he participated in art competitions and contests, winning major distinctions. He studied at the School of Arts and Crafts in Manresa, in the workshops of Evarist Basiana and Estanislao Vilajosana, and studied perspective with Mestres i Cabanes, set designer for the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona. Starting in 1974 and for ten years, he stepped away from art galleries to devote himself to cinema—including animation, commercial, and live-action film—directing numerous short films and collaborating on several feature films.
