ORTEGA ÁVILA, José Manuel

Born in Barcelona in 1960. He began his painting studies at the T.E.A.S. Academy in Sabadell, completing them in the mid-1990s at the Llotja and Massana schools in Barcelona, and spending many years of his life studying in depth the work of great masters such as Velázquez, Fortuny, Sorolla, Rembrandt, Casas, and Sargent. In 1990, alongside Xavier Corberó, he designed the Olympic Medal for Barcelona '92 and was featured in the book "The 90 Best of the 90s." He has exhibited his works—many paying homage to the American painter Frederic Remington—in Spain, England, the USA (Texas), Mexico, and Andorra.
