Alfred Llahí Segalàs
In 1991, together with my brother, I opened what would become our first art gallery in the Principality of Andorra, Galería de Arte Llahí, becoming the youngest gallerists in our country. We were just over 20 years old and eager to contribute to the cultural development of our small country.
The success was so great that two years later we opened our second art gallery in Andorra and, not long after, a third one in Spain, more specifically on the Costa Brava.
The prestige achieved by our art galleries made it possible for us to be the European gallery chosen to hold an exclusive sales mandate for an oil painting by Velázquez from his Seville period (1618-1623), valued at 15 million euros.
Until 2012, Galerías de Arte Llahí continued to organize more than 300 solo exhibitions and many group exhibitions, featuring internationally renowned artists such as Félix Revello de Toro, Lorenzo Quinn and many of the most important figurative art names of the time in Europe and America.
Between 2012 and 2020, I devoted myself to organizing international exhibitions with major names in Chicago and Dubai, as well as advising mainly international foundations on artistic matters, including that of Baroness Ariane de Rothschild, head of the Swiss bank Edmond de Rothschild.
33 years after opening our first art gallery, I am pleased to present ART ANDORRA, a new business concept where collectors, investors and art lovers from around the world can view and acquire from home the artworks that form part of our collection, which is not limited to painting and sculpture, but also offers exclusive pieces of ethnic art, religious art and all kinds of antiques, to name just a few examples.
