ISERN, Jordi
Born in Barcelona in 1969. Since 2004, he has lived in Alcover, Tarragona, the hometown of his father and ancestors, located at the gateway to the Prades Mountains—a lush, humid landscape crossed by the Glorieta River, which flows into the Francolí—where he married and raised his family. His works have been exhibited throughout Spain and have reached Japan, featuring in a major solo exhibition in the city of Nagano. His landscape paintings feature a palette of solid colors—bold when appropriate and delicate when the subject demands it—all backed by a strong painterly background that does not shy away from craftsmanship, but rather embraces it as the mastery of a trade, belonging to a school, and carrying forward the legacy of tradition, much as the great master Eugeni d'Ors affirmed.
