ABELLÍ, Ció

Born in Girona in 1963. A student of sculptor Ricard Sala, she holds a degree in Fine Arts with a specialization in sculpture from the University of Barcelona. Since 1987, she has held solo exhibitions across Spain, Andorra, and France, showcasing her bronze sculptures, which are female-themed and strictly figurative. Throughout this time, she has combined the creation of small-scale works with public monuments and commissioned projects. She currently teaches art classes in Llagostera, Riudellots, and Vilablareix (Girona). One of her best-known public works is the monument to Ava Gardner in Tossa de Mar, Girona, where the actress filmed Pandora and the Flying Dutchman alongside James Mason in 1950, directed by Albert Lewin.
