PIROTTI, Carlo

Born in Turin, Italy, in 1938. He began his artistic career as a lithographer's apprentice, and in 1950 met the renowned Enrico Tovagliari, with whom he explored design and lithographic techniques, earning a diploma in the discipline shortly thereafter. He then decided to devote himself to drawing, painting, and printmaking, launching in the 1960s a long journey that led him to exhibit his work individually throughout Italy. In the 1970s, he formed the artistic group "I Tre" alongside Alfredo Ciocca and Dino Pasquero, a partnership that lasted several years and saw the group exhibit in numerous European countries. With a solid reputation established, he decided to retire to Madonna dell'Olmo where, thanks to his great artistic skill in creating landscapes, seascapes, still lifes, and a deeply personal vision of mountain scenes, he found his long-sought modus vivendi. His works enjoyed critical acclaim, earning a place in numerous public and private collections across Italy, as well as in France, Belgium, and Switzerland. Professor Antonio Dogliani remarked that Pirotti's painting leads us to a more thoughtful appreciation of the nature around us, allowing us to discover the joy of poetry.
